One of the most unique venues in the UK, the Great Barn can be found in Harrow, London. With such a rich history, having been a traditional working farm building from 1506 to 1928, the venue was in 1986 revitalised as a historic events space.
On February 11th, the Great Barn hosted a special wedding for us, as it saw the union of one of our resident wedding DJ’s, Mr Vish & Sabrina!
As this was one of our own DJ’s getting married, we decided to have an alternating host of different DJ’s. This meant we were blessed to hear DJ Shrai, DJ Rav-C and DJ Deven Musiq all play at the same event! All the DJ’s were at the top of their game, bringing their own unique perspective and style to the mix.
The Great Barn is perfect for hosting more intimate, personal events, which was wonderful for this reception. Upon entering you’re greeting with a site that is filled with so much history; it has a magical quality to it, plus the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly.
The couple’s preferred genre selection was Noughties Rnb, Hip Hop & Bollywood. Their playlist features songs such as:
Vibe – Diljit Dosanjh
Candy – Cameo
Yeah – Usher
Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader
Fireflies – Owl City
Chura Liya – Bally Sagoo
Vish & Sabrina chose to go with our Rustic set-up, which features a vintage wooden DJ booth with accessories, vintage wooden apple crates, 4 moving head lights and a digital sound system! This set-up looked absolutely stunning and suited the venue perfectly.
For the couples first dance, they chose a mix. First was an acoustic cover of Customised – Kehna Hi Kya which then transitioned to a cover of Baarian – Darshan Raval.
Some highlights were the cotton candy machine, a dance off between the happy couple, the rotating selection of unique DJ’s and guests sporting their hilarious Mr Vish masks!
Golden tip: If you feel there’s just not enough dancing time, cut down on speeches to allow more room for partying with the ones you love.
As the night came to a close, it ended with Fireflies – Owl City.
We recently created a video based around the event, check it out here:
