Ambo Magic

Ambo Magic

DJ, Radio Broadcaster & Host, from South London, most known for performing his individual open-format sound, and for his Weekend Drivetime Show on London’s No.1 Asian station – Lyca Radio, interviewing the likes of Bollywood Superstars – Shah Rukh Khan & Badshah, to homegrown talent such as Navin Kundra & H-Dhami.

With over 10 years of performance experience, Ambo pulls from his broad musical knowledge to blend music from house and commercial to hip hop, R&B, and club classics, mixing with South Asian funky Bolly Bhang twangs, which allows Ambo to be effortlessly versatile.

Ambo’s influence comes from an unexpected mix of his parents throwing him in the car and force feeding him 60s and 70s Bollywood golden oldies from classic Rafi to the soft velvety sound of Lata, through to his teenage years of listening to hip hop and RnB legends like BIG, Diddy, Boyz II Men, and LL Cool J. His interest in house and electronic music stemmed from that of the late 90s house and garage era, artists like DJ EZ, Heartless Crew, Sunship, and So Solid Crew. It goes on to right now, where he uses these influences to create his own style seamlessly mixing and always keeping you wondering what he’s going to play next and saying “I can’t believe he just did that!”
