About Pandit Prash
Pandit Prash is a Hindu priest specialising in weddings for modern & mixed-culture couples. He brings a less traditional approach to his ceremonies – helping you celebrate your culture and family heritage in a way that feels authentic to you.
Growing up in a non-traditional Brahmin family in North West London, Hinduism played a big part in Prash’s upbringing in the form of cultural celebrations and family gatherings centred around festivals/poojas. As a pandit, he celebrates this aspect of Hinduism – giving you a more relatable and meaningful way to honour your cultural roots on your big day.
If you choose to work with Prash, he’ll help you craft a personalised, inclusive & fun spiritual ceremony that reflects your values as a couple. This may include shortening the ceremony length or customising certain rituals – such as adding personal vows to the saptapadi (7 steps of marriage), or reframing the kanyadaan (‘giving away of the bride’).
For mixed-culture couples, his starting approach is to wholeheartedly celebrate the coming together of your cultures as an intentional part of the ceremony.
Prior to becoming a pandit, Prash has several years’ experience working in the wedding industry, co-running his wife Sophie’s wedding veil business (Sophie Raval).
