Anthony loves shooting weddings. They have their rules, and in some ways, they are very orchestrated events – you know what’s going to happen and when. And yet, nothing is ever truly predictable. Every wedding is completely different, with each couple adding something new to the mix. He loves being there to capture the day but hates being in the way. He doesn’t run around telling people what to do or rush them along. Setting up shots is what he does best. He walks in with a sense of naivety, aiming to capture the events as they naturally unfold.

He knows the story is there—the beauty, the drama, the characters, and the details. Over time, he has learned to trust the day. It will be beautiful. People will feel relaxed around him, without the need for direction or staged moments. He simply watches the story unveil and captures every bit of it. Today, he works as a photographer, documenting weddings the way he sees them.

He has realised that he is good at telling stories—long and short, his own and others’—and there’s nothing he loves more. He doesn’t need to do much; the stories are already there. He won’t create moments or ask the groomsmen to “fight” with the groom. He won’t tell a father to hug his daughter before walking her down the aisle—because he probably will anyway. And when he does, Anthony will capture that moment, because that is the moment that truly matters.

He feels exceptionally lucky to be part of one of the most precious days in a couple’s life. To him, it’s more than just a job. He fully appreciates the importance of his role and never underestimates the trust his clients place in him.
