Northbrook Park Breakdown

17 Jan, 2022
Tucked away on the edge of Hampshire – Northbrook Park is an incredible 18th Century Manor House, surrounded by manicured gardens and exotic wildlife. On December 11th, it played host to one of our recent weddings, the union of Amit and Sonia.

Bride and Groom

Having originally got in contact a few months before, Ambo Magic, was scheduled to perform at the event. Unfortunately, Ambo contracted COVID-19 a few days before the wedding, so DJ Rugrat stepped in to take on the wedding, collaborating closely with the couple, so as to understand their preferred music style.

Having worked with Northbrook Park in the past, we have an already established relationship with the venue.

As with almost all of our events this year, this had also been delayed due to the pandemic. So much so that the couple actually married last year, only now being allowed to officially celebrate their union.

Their preferred genre of music was wide ranging; from modern pop to indie, they were incredibly eclectic. Their playlist featured songs such as:

  • Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Can’t Stop
  • Sip Sip – Jasmin Sandlas
  • Flowers – Sweet Female Attitude
  • Serani – No Games

The architecture of Northbrook Park is absolutely incredible, with its reception venue featuring a rustic aesthetic, with naked brick walls (they even displayed a Christmas tree). Luckily, this venue is also very well heated, which in winter is greatly appreciated!

Amit & Sonia picked our Bespoke package, which includes things such as a DJ booth with two decks plus a mixer and six controlled DMX lights.

Bespoke Package

A package we often use at a venue such as this would be our Rustic package, as it blends together well with the aesthetic of the venue. This package features four vintage wooden apple crates, a wooden DJ booth and a vintage wooden step ladder, all decorated with various accessories.

Some of the highlights of the evening included the groomsman all surprising Amit with their stag-do t-shirts as they lifted him into the air, or the conga line stretching all the way around the venue.

Golden Tip: Always think about the floor plan in relation to the party. The floor plan can be vital in setting the appropriate mood.

As the evening ended, we closed on ‘Wonderwall – Oasis’

“Nainesh was absolutely incredible at our wedding reception. He catered to all the different groups of people/music tastes and had the dancefloor absolutely packed for the entire night!! He also suggested a change in the floor plan positioning for us which was massively appreciated!! I cannot recommend this company enough! Thank you so much for making our day so magical and memorable!!” Amit Singh

We created a video based around the night, check it out:
